Shreshta Bharat Day

Lodha Fondation orhanised ‘Shreshtha Bhatar Day’ in collaboration with Shahid GAurav Samiti on 27th January 2014 in which more than 100,000 citizens participated. The event was organised to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the song ‘Ae mere watan ke logon’ that was sung by Lata Mangerskar, the famous singer on this day in 1963 and also to pay tribute to the Indian soldiers who had laid down fighting for the country. 90 recipients of valour awards including Param Vir Chakra, Maha vir chakra, Shaurya Chakra were honoured along with their families. The event was graced by Bharat Ratan Lata Mangeshkar, Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Narendra Modi and other honourable dignitaries.


Mumbai Marathon

Lodha Foundation has been actively supporting the Mumbai Marathon that is organised every year by sponsoring participants for the marathon. The participants are selected from the Lodha Group who has interest in running marathon. The event saw more than 40,000 marathon runners who cheered for various causes – education, health, senior citizens welfare, environment etc. Lodha Foundation supported 25 associates from Team Lodha who were a part of this experience and completed the Dream Run supporting our cause of “The betterment & education of underprivileged children” at the Mumbai Marathon 2014 on Sunday 19th January 2014. The team trains well in advance to be physically fit to complete the Marathon successfully.


Malabar Hill Festival

Lodha Foundation promotes sports, culture and arts by organising Malabar Hill Mahotsav every year. In this festival various events are organised over a period of week that brings participants from all walks of life together in harmony and enthuses a competitive spirit as well among them. The events are organised at school level and community level. Over 1 lakh children and 10,000 community members participate in various activities. In school level drawings, singing, elocution, dance, cricket and football related competitions are organised. Where as in community level 23 types of sports games are organised in which members of community participate. Musical shows performed by renowned singers are organised for entertainment of community members.


Mumbai Ganesh Festival

Lodha Foundation has been celebrating with all vigour The Ganesh Festival every year in the month of September. In this festival huge pandal (fabricated structure) is constructed where the idol of lord Ganesh is placed for worship. Lord Ganesh temple in eight different places in Maharashtra also knows as Ashtavinayak is the inspiration for designing the idols every year. The pandal is made at Gilder Tank Ground, Mumbai. The theme for the pandal changes every year so that it has a unique appeal to the devotees who come to pray there and celebrate the festival. During the celebration the foundation also organises exhibitions and cultural programmes and science exhibition also put up at the venue to education of the people especially the children.


Flag Hosting Ceremony

Lodha Foundation promotes patriotism by supporting housing societies in organising flag hosting events on two occasions that are of national significance viz. Republic day on 26th January and Independence Day on 15th August. Many housing societies are unable to organise the event due to lack of resources or motivation. Foundation is reaching out to over 1,300 societies in the city and providing them with national flag, flag post and snacks for organising the event where all members of society along with their families can participate and celebrate these important events every year. The initiative is very much welcomed by the housing societies as it not only gives them an occasion to come together but also create a feeling of unity among the citizens of the country.
